Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use of the parking resources, and the safe transport of community members who utilize the campus shuttle and charter services.
SNOW EMERGENCY - FEBRUARY 5-12
PARKING & SHUTTLE MODIFICATIONS
The university is implementing parking restrictions and shuttle service suspensions in response to the inclement weather predicted for February 5 – 12. Listed below, these restrictions will allow the university’s Facilities staff to clear parking areas in a safe and efficient manner. Due to the amount of snow being predicted, vehicles left on surface lots or roof spaces in garages may be plowed in. Help us help you by relocating or parking your vehicle in a covered commuter area of one of the garages.
Vehicle Relocation
Unitl further notice, vehicles should be relocated as indicated below:
• All resident permit holders for all locations (Towsontown Garage lot 7, Ward Hall lot 7, Glen Towers lot 26, West Village lots 18 and 22, Towson Center and Millennium Hall) must move their vehicles to a covered commuter parking area in one of the three garages. Ticketing in the commuter areas of the garages will be suspended from 6 a.m. Friday, February 5 to 6 a.m. Monday, February 8 to accommodate relocations.
• Faculty and staff who remain on campus or come to campus during this time should park their vehicles in the faculty/staff or commuter areas of the garages.
• Anyone parking on campus from 4 p.m. Friday, February 5 through 6 p.m. Sunday, February 7 must park in the covered areas of the parking garages.
• All gated lots will be locked down to restrict access to surface lots. Vehicles in the lots will still be able to exit.
• All surface lots and exposed roof parking spaces in all garages will be closed.
• Vehicles should be relocated back to the assigned areas after the snow has stopped and the lots have been cleared, but no later than 6 a.m. Monday, February 8.
Shuttle Service Suspension
All shuttle service will be suspended effective 7 p.m. Friday, February 5 until further notice.
Parking on Campus
Vehicles parked on campus must display a valid permit or be parked at a paid meter from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Reserved spaces and restricted lots are enforced at all times.
Campus Shuttle Service
The on-campus shuttle service, including para transit services, is available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Escort Services
Campus Police provide escort services from sunset to sunrise. Please call 410-704-7233 (SAFE) to request service or obtain additional information.
Campus Construction Updates
Over the next 3 to 5 years, the campus will undergo numerous construction projects that will affect many aspects of campus life. Information regarding campus projects can be found on the facilities Web site.
