The TU Alumni Association offers the following awards, grants and scholarships.
Alumni Association Scholarship Award (formerly the Distinguished Presidential Scholarship)
The purpose of the Alumni Association Scholarship Award is to recognize, encourage, and reward undergraduate students who demonstrate the highest levels of intellectual and personal achievement and have the potential to become
active alumni who will support the university and contribute to their communities. New deadline: May 1, 2010.
Community Grant
The purpose of the Community Grant is to provide support for community service projects or activities initiated and/or developed by Towson University students, alumni, administrators, staff and/or faculty members. The grant deadline is January 15.
Distinguished Scholar Award
The purpose of the Distinguished Scholar Award is to provide recognition for outstanding academic achievement at Towson University by the son or daughter of a Towson University alumna/us who has completed a minimum of 75 credits and has at least one more, full-time semester to complete at Towson University. New deadline: May 1, 2010.
Graduate Fellowship
The purpose of the Graduate Fellowship is to recognize, encourage and reward graduate and post-graduate students who demonstrate the highest levels of intellectual and personal achievement and have the potential to become active alumni who will support the university and contribute to
their communities. New deadline: May 1, 2010.
Professional Development Grant
The
Professional Development Grant was established to provide a
Towson University alumna/us an opportunity to enhance their
professional development related to their current job and/or job
related situation.
The grant,
awarded annually, provides financial assistance to a Towson
University alumna/us who has received an undergraduate or
graduate degree from the University.
The funds
may be used for conference registration, tuition for an
undergraduate or graduate class in the applicant’s work related
field, membership fees in a professional organization or other
career enhancement opportunities. The grant deadline is January 15.
Ronald L. Peterson Freshman Scholarship
The purpose of the Ronald L. Peterson Freshman Scholarship is to provide recognition for outstanding academic achievement by the son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a Towson University alumna/us entering Towson University from high school as a full-time baccalaureate degree candidate. New deadline: May 1, 2010.
