The College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) encourages students to develop their creative and analytical abilities, tailored to their aspirations, by encouraging dialogue, inspiration, passion and beauty. These attributes are fostered through a broad liberal arts education and specialized professional training.

Our six departments—Art, Dance, Electronic Media and Film, Mass Communication and Communication Studies, Music and Theatre Arts—offer a wide range of majors and concentrations. In addition to programs of study for our majors and minors, we also offer all TU students the opportunity to participate in an exciting variety of academic and artistic experiences.

Facilities in the College of Fine Arts and Communication are designed with an emphasis on the teaching and learning environment.

Recognized as a thriving visual arts center for Maryland, the college contributes to the cultural life of Towson and the Greater Baltimore region by offering an annual program of events that include more than 90 music performances; at least 25 student films; 17 dance concerts; numerous debates, lectures and workshops; no fewer than four mainstage productions; a daily campus television show; and eight to 10 art exhibitions. More than 100,000 people attend college-sponsored events each year.
