Biography
Maria DeMeo has been associated with the Towson University Dance Department since 1989. She assists the Chairperson in the day-to-day operations of the Department and is the editor for the Dance Department website and involved in recruiting. Maria is a New York City native (The Bronx, Manhattan and Rockaway Beach) and is a life-long NY Giants Football and Yankees Fan. An avid opera buff, she attended numerous performances at the Met since 1963 before moving with her family to Baltimore in 1982. Her favorite artists are Tebaldi, Corelli, Nilsson and Florez. In her free time, she is involved in community service in Baltimore City. Maria has been married to Rudolph E. DeMeo, an attorney, for 32 years They have one daughter, Anna, who is a professional makeup artist in New York City. She is also the proud Great Aunt of Murphy and Donal Shimamoto, who reside in Brentwood, California.
Maria will be retiring from Towson University in July of 2010 after twenty plus years with the university.
