Biography

Since 2006, Dr. Haigler has been the Chairperson and Professor of the Towson University Department of Dance. At Temple University she Susan Haigler-Roblesperformed with German Expressionist Company, ZeroMoving Dance Company. During 1985-1989, she was a DC freelance choreographer/dancer teaching for University of Maryland, College Park. She returned to Temple to complete received her Ed. D. degree (1995) while also as an assistant professor of dance at Texas Christian University overseeing their M.F.A degree program (1993-1998). Her post-modern dissertation helped document the teaching methodology of Robert Ellis Dunn, who taught dancers to “find the extraordinary in the ordinary” and to “hyper-mobilize the nervous system.” This Southern feminist has choreographed and taught in New York, Mexico, Germany and Italy. She is a mother of two fabulous boys, Lewis Rafael and Camilo Dantzler.
