Arts and Culture

From jazz to chamber music, dramas to musicals, art exhibits to dance, Towson University has the ticket. More than 80,000 people attend some 200 performances, exhibits, films and lectures each year at the Center for the Arts and other campus venues. The Asian Arts & Culture Center presents a full calendar of events designed to promote the visual and performing arts of Asia. Big name bands like Dashboard Confessional, Third Eye Blind, The Roots and The All-American Rejects perform at Tigerfest, our annual spring festival that draws crowds of up to 10,000 people. Family entertainment and children’s arts programs are offered throughout the year.

Students majoring in the creative disciplines are drawn to Towson University’s programs in art, music, theater, dance, film, communication, creative writing and languages. Dancers, painters, musicians, actors, filmmakers, designers and writers work and learn together here–stimulating creativity and artistic growth. Find out more about our academic programs.
