Division of Economic and Community Outreach
Towson University opened the TowsonGlobal - International Incubator in 2006. The Center is the University’s first international incubator for early-stage companies and it includes 5,100 square feet of office space at the University’s Terrace Dale complex, located at 7401 York Road.
TowsonGlobal - International Incubator will serve as the gateway to international markets for product-oriented Maryland companies and as a magnet for foreign companies looking to market their products in the mid-Atlantic region. Also, the Center will offer workshops and resources to companies in the greater business community to help them compete in a global marketplace.
Companies working on projects from medical diagnostics to cryptoanalysis to computer gaming and beyond may receive office space. Center staff will help these and other businesses develop international markets and export their products overseas.
"On a large scale Towson University focuses on developing partnerships that address work force needs. However, we can assist organizations individually through targeted programs including our business globalization incubator and Small Business Development Center. If you are looking for help, looking for a partner, call Towson University," says Dr. Robert L. Caret, President of Towson University.
Towson University established partnerships with the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development, Maryland TEDCO, and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development to support the incubator. Support from private sector companies and the federal government have also helped the incubator to get started.
