Are you a threat?

Towson University’s MFA in Theatre is not for the faint of heart. The program is designed for the resourceful, visionary and idiosyncratic artist who cannot be confined by the traditional conservatory model.

We seek double, triple, quadruple threats—artists dedicated to exploring all aspects of contemporary theatre making. Our students are puppeteers, poets, computer geeks and rock stars—usually all at the same time.

Whether you want to learn more about solo performance, Asian dance theatre techniques or the latest software used for sound design, chances are good that someone from our cadre of faculty and visiting artists will be right up your alley.

The curriculum includes demanding academic work through which students develop individual social, political and aesthetic perspectives. The successful Towson graduate student doesn’t merely possess exemplary communication skills—they have something to say with them.

If you’ve ever been stymied by the question, “What do you do?” this could be your program.
